How to Segregate Organic Mixed Waste at Site?

The world is becoming a garbage dump with so many dumpsites and water bodies filled with hazardous waste released from industries and whatnot. The pollution level in the air, water, and on land is on a rise that controlling it requires not just a special task force but efforts from every individual. To encourage and build a stepping stone for individuals, Clean India Ventures has introduced a green waste reprocessor machine known as GoClean that reduces and recycles various kinds of organic waste into reusable by-products.

Today, India generates a total of over 62 million tonnes in a year, of which 51% of the total waste generated is organic waste. Organic waste includes- flowers, cooked food, rotten fruits and vegetables, paper, and etc. which further add to the greenhouse gas emission from landfill sites. This hazardous emission of gas can be controlled by disposing of organic waste, thus not reaching the landfill. Clean India Ventures has ventured into making our surroundings more sustainable by installing GoClean machines to reduce organic waste.

But how to segregate the waste and how it will help?

Well, waste thrown out of households, temples, agro-mandi, etc. are not all biodegradable but has portions of non-biodegradable content as well, which when dumped directly into landfills causes further damage. The problem starts from- Segregation! Organizations like Clean India Ventures are taking important steps to reduce waste by introducing advanced technologies at the source. Clean India has launched a range of waste recycling machines called GoClean, designed for Temple Waste, Food Waste, Horticulture Waste, and Organic Mixed Waste Model.

GoClean is an automatic mechanized organic waste converter that converts all kinds of organic waste into usable organic manure. So, to segregate the waste and make most of it at the site:

1. Identify waste types: Garbage thrown away includes- one-time use plastic, rotten fruits & vegetables, and its skin, clothes, glass products, landscaping, and pruning waste, etc. Some parts of the garbage are offered directly thrown whereas some are packed in cellophane paper (thin plastic sheet), woven in a thread (garland), and more.

2. Segregate Waste into: biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste. Items thrown away like fruits, clothes, milk, etc. come under the biodegradable category, whereas plastic material, packaging products, rubber, etc. come under the non-biodegradable category.

3. Segregate into Reusable & non-reusable waste: Once the wastes are identified, it needs to be segregated into usable and non-reusable categories, such that the reusable waste can be used as containers at home or for growing plants, etc.

Additional steps, to convert organic waste into valuable and reusable products:

4. Put Waste into GoClean Organic Mixed Waste Model: Upon segregation, biodegradable waste is put into the green waste reprocessor machine at any site which will further convert discarded refuse into organic manure.

5.Use Organic Manure: The organic manure produced from the machines can be used at farms or temples with garden areas or it can be sold, as the manure is a rich source of nutrients.

GoClean technology is a green waste reprocessing technology that has been installed at various sites in Delhi. Clean India Ventures has taken a pledge to install as many GoClean machines to create a healthy, safe, and sustainable environment. Also, segregating waste is crucial to create clean, pure, and cheap organic manure that has high benefits and zero negative impacts on the environment.
